I know… I know… Everyone hates senseless product plugs but I promise this is not one of those! Promise!
After seeing them around, selling a couple, and now riding one I have to say the Salsa Chilli Con Crosso is hands down my favorite cross bike out there! I am/was a skeptic right off the bat! Not just of the salsa but all cross bikes. I have ridden many and have found most of them…well… wanting.
I must admit that I am not a cross racer but more of a cross commuter/ wish they made a road bike that I could ride on a BMX track. I love to dive into dirt corners… boost curbs… and run over stuff all in the comfort of drop bars. Crazy I know but sadly it is true! This bike makes all of this possible and more…not to mention it is cool green!
Once you jump on and hit the gas you will smile. A few pedal strokes later you will find yourself in a full on giggle! This rig sails it soars and nothing is more fun than trucking by someone on their full suspension craziness while you are in your drops….
Trust me if fun is what you are after this is the bike for you and yours!

A blank canvas! That’s what you start with when building up a bike from a frame. Being a sucker for all things Salsa I needed a replacement to my old and in the way commuter. Ever since I made the mistake of getting rid of my Salsa Ala Carte 5 years ago I’ve wanted another one. It’s been a slow train coming but here it is! New Salsa Ala Carte steel frameset with WTB Dirt Drop Bar and loads of other sweet yet sensible parts! Swing on into the shop and find a new canvas, or see what we can do with your old one to give it a unique look or fresh feel. Bicycles can be rolling works of art!

If you’re wondering who you’re going to run into when you drop by our store look no further than to your right. Click on About Cyclesmith to get an idea of who we are, why on earth we’re working in a bike shop (hello, we love bikes!), and what each of us is good at.
For instance, take John (he’s in the middle) :

John is a most excellent commuter. He knows single speeds, fixies, and weird bikes inside and out. He knows normal bikes too, but that’s not what makes him special. Call on him for all of your needs for he is a man of phil wood, chris king, surly, and velocity. Any man with that kind of taste cannot be wrong!

This is Rocky Mountain’s Team issue bike from 2006. Top of the line components, very well taken care of, and a one of a kind machine. Its big, but if it fits then its a great deal. New, this bike would be about $7,000.
Price: $2,500
Size: 21″

Salsa released some pictures of their new complete bikes for 2008. Enjoy!

The Casseroll. Singlespeed, fixie, triple, road bike, it can be everything. I’m buying one of these set up as a fixie as soon as I can get my dirty little hands on one.

La Cruz cyclocross bike. Disks+steel=hotness

One of our favorite bikes from 2007, the El Mariachi is back. 1X9 gears= simple. Steel frame= a beautiful ride.

Bling, ’nuff said
More to come!
